Colonel R. Elvitigala assumed duties as the 26th Commander of the 233 Brigade amid religious observances on Sunday (06) at 233 Brigade Headquarters in Vakarai of the 23 Division.

He succeeded Colonel K.A Samarasiri who was appointed as the Commando Brigade Commander.

A formal Guard Turnout at the entrance presented by 6 Gajaba Regiment troops greeted him before symbolized the occasion by planting a sapling and a customary troop address.

Commanding Officers of 6 Gajaba Regiment, 18 Sri Lanka National Guards, 5 Women’s Corps and Brigade staff attended the occasion. |
