Troops serving the 7 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) and 9 Vijayabhahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) under command to the 571 Brigade of the 57 Division of the Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Tuesday (16) launched a mosquito breeding prevention programme around the surroundings in Kilinochchi sports complex, Pullair Kovil and the Murusamotai Primary School.

14 Army personnel of the 9 VIR and 7 SLLI under the 571 Brigade, together with a few civilians in the area completed the projects at sports complex and Pullair Kovil.

Similarly, 21 Army personnel of the 15 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment with the support of civilians in the area carried out the cleaning programme around the Murusamotai Primary School.

On the directions of Major General Niyshshanka Ranawana, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi and Major General Vijitha Ravipriya, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 57 Division, 571 and 573 Brigade Commanders closely supervised the projects. |
