Nearly 140 Army personnel of the 11 Division and its under command formations on Sunday (8) gave their helping hand for conduct of a mega religious programme at Asgiri Maha Pirivena in Kandy.

Troops supported the preparation of the alms-giving venue, decorations and cleaning of the entire premises before a record 1000 Buddhist monks arrived there for participation in the religious event.

On the directions of Major General Rukmal Dias, Commander, Security Forces - Central, the General Officer Commanding in the 11 Division has coordinated the assistance to the project.
