A sudden bush fire that broke out in Degalaramba area in the Moneragala District was brought to the notice of the troops in the 121 Brigade of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-Cen) on Saturday (7).

18 Battalion Gemunu Watch rushed to the scene and managed to douse the wildfire within a couple of hours the same morning (7).

One Officer and twenty five Other Ranks on the instructions of Major General Rukmal Dias, Commander, Security Forces - Central (SF-Cen) and the 121 Brigade Commander attended to the emergency.
