Inmates at ‘Sarana’ Elders’ Home in Ampara were hosted to a delicious lunch by Officers and Other Ranks of the 24 Division in Ampara on account of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year on Saturday (14).

35 adults enjoyed the lunch and interacted with the troops while exchanging their good old memories. All were also offered valuable gifts at the end of the session. Some parents emotionally expressed their memories with the visitors treating them like their own sons and daughters.

The programme ended with Calypso music which were played by troops of the 16 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) attracting the inmates to the dancing floor.

The event got underway on the directions of the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 24 Division, Major General Mahinda Mudalige.
