A lecture on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law was conducted in the ‘Tourch’ cinema hall at the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) on Wednesday (4) with the objective of educating soldiers on this aspect.

The Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-Cen) took the leadership organizing this awareness lecture in conjunction with the Directorate of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law.

To be in line with the training day programme, the lecture was conducted by Mr Jagath Wickramasinghe, Provincial Coordinator for Uva Province, Human Rights Commission in Sri Lanka.

The participants in the training day programme were able to learn more information about this aspect.

More than 14 Officers and 259 Other Ranks took part in the programme under the directions of Major General Rukmal Dias, Commander, Security Forces - Central.
