Troops of the Army School of Logistics (ASL) at Trincomalee on Thursday (15) planted a few more than 1000 fruit saplings, like Mango, Lemon, Woodapple, Pomegranate, etc inside its compound as a contribution to the ongoing 'Api Wawamu - Rata Nagamu' national food drive.

Brigadier Deepal Wanniarachchi, Commandant, ASL took the lead in planting them with the participation of Officers and Other Rankers. Saplings were provided to the ASL by the Institute for Fruit Research and Development, free of charge as an incentive.
