Colonel A.H.L.G Amarapala assumed office as the Officiating Brigade Commander of the 593 Brigade Headquarters of the 59 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) on Monday (26) at Nayaru, Mullaittivu.

A Guard Turnout, presented by 19 Gemunu Watch (GW) troops saluted the newly-appointed 593 Officiating Brigade Commander on arrival at the Brigade Headquarters in conformity with military traditions.

A subsequent 'Pirith' chanting afterwards blessed the office of the new Officiating Brigade Commander as he placed his signature for an official document to signify the acceptance of the new office. A little later, he addressed All Ranks serving under the 593 Brigade Headquarters.

As a symbol of memory, the new Officiating Brigade Commander afterwards planted a sapling in the 593 Brigade Headquarter premises. Commanding Officers and Staff Officers at the 593 Brigade were present during the occasion.
