RHQ SLLI Vested with Renovated Warrant Officers’ & Sergeants’ Mess

The re-opening ceremony of the renovated Warrant Officers’ & Sergeants’ Mess building took place recently at the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Regimental Headquarters (RHQ) at the Army Cantonment, Panagoda.
Major General Amal Karunasekara, Chief of Staff and Colonel of the Regiment, SLLI attended the opening ceremony as the Chief Guest.
On arrival, the Chief Guest was welcomed by the Warrant Officer I M.G.S Mahesh Kumara Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM), RHQ, SLLI, together with a representative gathering of Senior Non Commissioned Officers of the SLLI.
After the ceremonial re-opening, Lieutenant General H.V Athukorala (Rtd) a Senior Officer of the SLLI entered the renovated premises and looked around inside the premises in the company of Colonel of the Regiment, SLLI.
Former Army Commanders, General Shantha Kottegoda (Rtd) and General Daya Rathnayaka (Rtd) along with many serving and retired Senior Officers, Retired RSMs, RHQ RSM and SNCOs participated in the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Mrs Dananjani Karunasekara, Chairperson, SLLI, Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU), together with several members of the SLLI-SVU had an interactive session at the SLLI Officers’ Mess on the sidelines of the main event.
