An awareness programme on ‘Archaeological Heritage’ in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka was organized by the Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna (SFHQ-J) for Officers in the SFHQ-J on Wednesday (13) at the SFHQ-J auditorium.

The lecture session was delivered by Mr. K.D Palitha Weerasinghe, Director Archaeological Department, Jaffna and Kilinochchi districts.

The lecture focused on positive reinforcement and measures needed to protect National Archaeological sites in Sri Lanka.

Similarly, the programme enlightened a gathering of 114 Officers on the subject 'Under Water Archaeology' as well.

At the end of the programme Brigadier Rasika Karunathilaka presented a memento to Mr. K.D Palitha Weerasinghe as a token of appreciation for his commitment.
