The newly-appointed 23 Division General Officer Commanding (GOC), Brigadier Chula Abeynayake recently assumed duties during a brief ceremony at the 23 Division Headquarters, Poonani of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E).

‘Seth Pirith’ chanting of the Maha Sangha invoked blessings on the new office, together with priests of all denominations as he placed his signature for a formal document, signifying the acceptance of his duties.

A formal Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour greeted Brigadier Chula Abeynayake upon his arrival at the 23 Division Headquarters premises in keeping with military traditions.
