The Training School of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) at Giritale recently opened its new Officers' Mess building, a long-felt need.

Under the guidance of Lieutenant Colonel R. D Sallay, Commandant, School of Military Police, the entire project was completed utilizing self-initiated funds, local resources and technical expertise within a period of near five months.

Brigadier V.N Koswatte, Colonel Commandant of SLCMP at a simple ceremony held at the premises joined the opening at Giritale.

Subsequent to the opening ceremony, a dinner was hosted with the participation of several invitees, including Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi, Commander, Security Forces - East, Major General Manoj Mudannayake, Commander Forward Maintenance Area –East and several others.
