A Set of weight lifting tools were donated to Passaiyoor , St. Antony's R.C. Girls’ Vidyalayam by woman soldiers of the 7th Battalion of Sri Lanka Women's Corps (SLAWC) on Tuesday (18).

The event was organized to appreciate the achievements of the two girls who won two Gold Medals and five Silver Medals in the all island school athletics meet in 2016.

The donation was organized on the directions of the Commander, Security Forces Jaffna, Major General Mahesh Senanayaka.

Lieutenant Colonel Harischandra Mayasinghe, Chief Civil Affairs Coordinating Officer of SFHQ - J attended the occasion as the Chief Guest. Major Geetha Rankotge, Commanding Officer of 7 SLAWC along with Attorney at Law, Mr. T. Perinbam, Principal, J/Passaiyoor, St. Anthony's R.C. Girls' Vidyalayam, Mr. M. Mathivathan, sports teachers and students also participated in the event.
