Responding positively to a request of the Grama Niladhari (State official), made to the Commandant, Center for Army Vocational Training (CAVT) at Saliyawewa, troops using their professional know-how recently built two domestic kitchens within a day for two underprivileged women at Palugassegama.

Trainees at the CAVT under the guidance of Mr S Wimalasiri, Course Instructor at the CAVT volunteered to do this humanitarian service considering the plight of those two helpless aged women whose shanty-type homes did not have any kitchens.
