Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army, handed over the key of a newly constructed house to a needy family in Mahamayapura, Trincomalee on 07 June 2024.

The Army Chief vested the house in the beneficiary, Mrs. Yashodara Lakmali amidst religious blessings. This new house was constructed by the troops of 2 (V) GR under the supervision of Lieutenant Colonel H.G.K.S Dharmadasa RWP RSP, the Commanding Officer of 2 (V) GR and with the financial assistance provided by Mr. Rohan Gunasekara, a resident in Mount Lavinia.

Major General S.A. Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, the Commander of Security Forces - East, Major General P.A.M Peiris RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding of 22 Infantry Division, Commanders of respective Brigades, Police Officers, government officials and civilians of the area participated in the event.
