Army Athlete in 'Asian Games' Wins Silver in Javelin Throw

Making a new Sri Lankan record after absence of 17 years in the ‘Asian Games’ in Hangzhou, China, Sergeant Nadeesha Lekamge of 2 (v) Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) won the Silver Medal in Javelin Throw with record distance of 61.57 metres.

More than 12,000 athletes from all 45 members of the Olympic Council of Asia are participating in the ‘19th Asian Games’, now underway in Hangzhou, China.
