Major General K.W Jayaweera USP psc assumed duties as the 17th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 24 Infantry Division on 26 August 2025 at the Headquarters of the 24 Infantry Division.
Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by the Deputy General Officer Commanding of the 24 Infantry Division and was accorded a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour presented by the troops of the 18 VIR.
Subsequently, he planted a sapling, posed for a group photograph, addressed the troops and attended All Ranks tea.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks attended the event.
