SLAVF Bids Farewell to its Outgoing Commandant

The troops of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) arranged a formal ceremony to bid farewell to the outgoing Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Major General U.K.D.D.P. Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, on 04 June 2026 at the Volunteer Force Headquarters.

Upon his arrival, the outgoing Commandant was accorded a Guard Turnout. He then paid tribute to the late Captain Saliya Aladeniya PWV by laying a wreath at the memorial.

Later, the outgoing Commandant unveiled his portrait at the Commandant’s office premises.

Adding memories to the day, the outgoing Commandant was invited to pose for a group photograph. In his address to all ranks, he expressed appreciation for the commitment and dedication demonstrated by all ranks during his tenure.

The Deputy Commandant of SLAVF presented a souvenir to the outgoing Commandant. Thereafter, the Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of the Headquarters Battalion presented a memento on behalf of all members of the Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess.

The formalities for the day concluded with an All-Ranks tea, providing an opportunity for the outgoing Commandant to interact with all ranks.
