The 19th Colonel of the Regiment of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Assumes Duties

Major General S.A.U.A Solangaarachchi RSP ndc psc formally assumed duties as the 19 Colonel of the Regiment of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry on 01 June 2026.

Upon his arrival at the Regimental Centre, he was received by Senior Officers and accorded military honours, including a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour. He hoisted the Regimental Flag, paid tribute to the Regiment and later offered floral tributes at the Infantry “Abhiman Mudunatha” War Heroes Monument.

He officially assumed duties amidst religious observances by lighting the traditional oil lamp. Thereafter, he addressed Officers and Other Ranks, outlining his vision and future objectives while expressing gratitude to all fallen war heroes, disabled veterans, and serving personnel.

All members of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry extend their best wishes to him and Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
