Commander of the Army receives publication on medicinal plants

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, received the second volume of “Vishmitha Hela Osuwa” authored by Corporal M.I.S. Bandara of Special Forces at Army Headquarters on 05 June 2026.

Based on the author’s experience as a survival and combat tracking instructor, the publication details 200 medicinal plants, describing their characteristics, propagation methods and traditional therapeutic uses. The Commander commended the work and officially added it to the Army’s knowledge archive for the use of troops.

Major General W.B.M.K.G.K. Weerasekara WWV RWP RSP USP AUSWC psc, Colonel of the Regiment of the Special Forces, participated in the occasion.
