Newly Appointed Chief of Staff Assumes Duties at Army HQ

Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc of the Gajaba Regiment officially assumed duties as the 66th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army during a formal ceremony held at Army Headquarters on 10th February 2025.

The newly appointed Chief of Staff signed an official document, symbolising the acceptance of his new role, amidst the chanting of Seth Pirith by the Maha Sangha, invoking blessings for his tenure ahead.

Prior to this prestigious appointment, he served as the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army, bringing with him extensive experience and leadership in his military career.

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army, extended his congratulations to him on his new appointment at his office and posed for few photographs to mark the occasion.

Principal Staff Officers, Directors, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks at the Chief of Staff’s office attended the ceremonial inauguration, extending their best wishes to the newly appointed Chief of Staff as he undertook his new responsibilities.
