Major General K.V.N.P Premaratne RSP USP psc assumed duties as the 24th Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) on 02 January 2025 at Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.
The incoming Colonel Commandant was greeted in a Guard Turnout at the entrance before he paid a floral tribute to the memory of fallen SLA War Heroes at the Regimental Monument. A ceremonial Guard of Honour of the SLA troops afterwards saluted him at the parade square.
Amid chanting of 'Seth Pirith' by members of the Maha Sangha, the new Colonel Commandant signed an official document, signifying the acceptance of the new appointment and lit the symbolic oil lamp in the presence of Senior Officers joined at the occasion.
Adding memories to the day, Major General K.V.N.P Premaratne RSP USP psc, planted a Mango sapling in the compound and posed for a few group photographs. Culminating the day’s agenda, he participated in an All-Rank tea at 4 SLA premises and addressed the All Ranks. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks took part in the day’s agenda.
Major General K.V.N.P Premaratne RSP USP psc is currently holding the appointment as the Commander Security Forces (East).
