The Marksmanship and Sniper Training School (MSTS) celebrated its 36th Anniversary on 06 January 2025 at MSTS premises, under the leadership of Brigadier R.P Munipura RWP RSP, Commandant of MSTS.
The celebrations began on 05 January 2025 with an All-Night Pirith Chanting Ceremony, followed by an Alms-Giving to 36 monks and a separate Alms-Giving for the children of Sri Sambodhi Children’s Home in Ambegoda, Bandarawela.
On the Anniversary Day, the Commandant was accorded with a Guard Turnout at the entrance. He then paid tribute to MSTS Founding Father, the late Lieutenant Colonel D.B Rajasinghe, by laying a floral wreath at his statue. Later on, he planted a sapling and addressed the troops.
The event included the ceremonial opening of the newly constructed Regimental Sergeant Major's Accomadation. The celebrations concluded with an All-Ranks Lunch, attended by Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks.
