The Inter-Battalion Sports Championship of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR) successfully concluded at the Regimental Centre of MIR on 29 December 2024.
Major General W.M.S.C.K. Wanasinghe RSP USP, General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division and Colonel of the MIR, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
The competitions including firing, rowing, and volleyball were organised under the close supervision of the Centre Commandant of MIR. During the event, 1 MIR emerged as the best Battalion in volleyball, 3 MIR secured the Rowing Trophy, and 4 MIR excelled in firing. Cash incentives were also awarded to outstanding individuals in rowing and boxing for representing MIR colours at the national level.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
