Commander of the Army Graces Sinhala and Tamil New Year Celebrations at Abhimansala - II

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army together with Mrs. Swendrini Dissanayake, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) graced the Sinhala and Tamil New Year Festival held at Abhimansala - II Wellness Resort, Kamburupitiya on 06 April 2025.

The Commandant of the Abhimansala - II Wellness Resort, Kamburupitiya, Brigadier RGLK Weerakoon RWP RSP, warmly welcomed the Chief Guest upon arrival at the premises. Subsequently, the Sinhala and Tamil New Year Festival commenced with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp by the Chief Guest followed by a Puja Dance.

The Aurudu Kreeda events specially designed for the differently abled War Heroes captivated the audience. Adding charm to the occasion, the selection of the Avurudu Kumara and Kumariya brought festive joy to all present.

The wheelchair dance presented by differently-abled War Heroes of Abhimansala-II and the Gami Gedara event earned a heartfelt appreciation from the audience.

The celebrations concluded with the presentation of prizes and certificates to the winners by the distinguished guests, marking a memorable end to the Sinhala and Tamil New Year Festival.

Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, Staff of Abhimansala- II and their families also joined with the event.
