The Directorate of Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, under the guidance of Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, organised the Stage III medical camp at the Abhimansala 3 Wellness Centre, Pangolla, on 28 March 2025. This initiative aimed to address the healthcare needs of disabled veterans in the Kurunegala area.
The Commander of the Army, along with Mrs. Swendrini Dissanayake, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Upon arrival, he was accorded a drive pass at the entrance in accordance with military formalities. Afterwards, Brigadier W.A.S.R Wijedasa WWV RSP USP ndc psc, Director of the Directorate of Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, welcomed the Commander of the Army and other distinguished guests.
The Commander later visited the medical camp, inquired about its progress, and interacted with the veterans participating in the programme.
The medical camp focused on providing essential support, particularly for veterans in need of prosthetic limbs or surgical devices. More than 1000 military personnel benefited from the camp. The services offered included health consultations, prosthetic maintenance, mental health counselling, and personalised dietary advice. Specialist clinics for dermatology and dental care were also available.
