Under the guidance of Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) recently incorporated ten refurbished TATA 709 Trucks into the Army's fleet at the Base Workshop, Udawalawa.
The Commander of the Army inspected these vehicles at the Army Headquarters on 19 February 2025, marking another milestone in the Army’s ongoing efforts to enhance its logistical capabilities.
The refurbishment of these vehicles was carried out by the troops of the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Base Workshop, Udawalawa, ensuring their operational readiness before being handed over to respective units.
Quarter Master General, Master General Ordnance, Director General EME, Director Supply & Transport, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
