Army Chief Highlights Future Operating Environment; Strategic Foresight in Customary Address at DSCSC

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, delivered the customary address to course participants of DSCSC Course No. 19 on 09 December 2025.

Upon arrival, the Commander of the Army was warmly received by Major General H.H.K.S.S. Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc, Commandant of DSCSC. Following the reception, the Commandant introduced the day’s distinguished speaker to the audience assembled at the DSCSC auditorium. A total of 149 course participants, including 26 officers from foreign nations, attended the session.

The Commander’s address, titled “Future Operating Environment: Strategic Foresight for the Sri Lanka Army,” examined the evolving nature of the future operating environment, challenges posed by strategic uncertainties, and the measures required to ensure the Sri Lanka Army remains a future-ready strategic force.

DSCSC Course No. 19 comprises 149 course participants, including 74 Sri Lanka Army, 25 Navy, 24 Air Force officers and 26 from Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia and Zambia.
