In commemoration of Poson Poya Day, a special spiritual and wellness programme was conducted at the Abhimansala 2 Wellness and Rehabilitation Centre in Kamburupitiya under the guidance of Brigadier R.G.L.K Weerakoon RWP RSP, the Commandant of Abhimansala. The initiative was designed to uplift the spiritual and psychological well-being of resident War Heroes, further supporting their ongoing rehabilitation journey.
A key highlight of the programme was a mobile 'Bhakthi Gee' (devotional songs) recital, which began at the rehabilitation centre and proceeded through several notable locations including Sri Pushparama Temple, Makandura, the Kamburupitiya Main Bus Stand, and the sorrounded area. The moving musical performance created a serene and reflective atmosphere, fostering a sense of peace and reverence among both participants and onlookers.
Complementing the spiritual programme, a Dansala was organized, offering traditional Pol Roti and Kottamalli (coriander herbal drink) to the local community.
The outreach effort drew more than 2,500 villagers in the area.
The event received overwhelming appreciation from the community and participants alike, with many highlighting its positive impact on social harmony.
