13th Defence Services Boxing Championship 2025

The 13th Defence Services Boxing Championship – 2025 was held at the Air Force Indoor Stadium, Katunayake, with the participation of the Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Air Force.

The Sri Lanka Army Men's Team secured a resounding victory, clinching 8 Gold, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze medal across 10 weight categories, thereby emerging as overall champions. Lance Corporal P.A.R. Prasanna of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, competing in the under 56 kg category, was awarded the Best Boxer in the Men’s category.

The Army Women’s Team became runners-up, securing 2 Gold, 1 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals across 5 weight classes. Lance Corporal M.G.M.T. Dhanika of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps earned the Best Boxer title in the under 57 kg Women’s category.

The Army competitors participated in the tournament under the guidance of Major General P.K.W.W.M.J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, Chairman of the Army Boxing Committee.
