The 11th edition of the Sri Lanka–India bilateral military exercise “Exercise Mithra Shakti” is scheduled to be held from 10 to 23 November 2025 at the Foreign Training Node (FTN), Belagavi, Karnataka, India.
The Sri Lankan contingent, comprising 125 personnel from the Sri Lanka Army and 10 personnel from the Sri Lanka Air Force, is led by Brigadier W.A.J Hemachandra RSP Hdmc psc, Commander of the Air Mobile Brigade.
The contingent departed for India today in an Indian Air Force aircraft from Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) to participate in the exercise.
The exercise aims to enhance interoperability, mutual understanding and cooperation between the armed forces of the two friendly nations.
Major General U.K.D.D.P. Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, the Commander Security Forces (West) and the Colonel of the Regiment of Gajaba Regiment, Major General K.J.N.M.P.K Nawarathna RWP RSP ndu, Director General Infantry, Major General W.M.N.K.D. Bandara RWP RSP USP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding of the 12 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
