The Sri Lanka Army conducted a felicitation ceremony at Army Headquarters on 6 March 2026 to honour the composers of the Army Song, which was released on 10 October 1999 to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army. Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
The event was attended by distinguished contributors to the Army Song: Ven. Rambukkana Siddhartha Thero, the lyricist; veteran musician Victor Rathnayake, the music composer; and Major General S.D. Thennakoon (Retd) RSP VSV USP ndc, the senior officer who conceptualised and coordinated the Army Song. Their invaluable contributions to the creation of the Army Song were highlighted during the ceremony. Principal Staff Officers, Directors, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks attended the event.
