Major General K.A.W.N.H. Bandaranayake USP, the Commander, Security Forces (Central), commended the exemplary service rendered by troops of Divisions, Brigades and Units under Security Forces Headquarters (Central), who were promptly mobilised to carry out disaster relief operations following the Ditwa Cyclone. The commendation was made during an event held at the auditorium of Security Forces Headquarters (Central), on 17 December 2025.
Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the high level of confidence and trust placed by both the civilian population and the government in Sri Lanka Army for its active and dedicated role in disaster response and humanitarian assistance operations.
Following the address, he attended an All Ranks tea, during which he interacted cordially with the troops. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
