Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army, paid an official visit to the Regimental Centre of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police on 26 February 2026.
Upon his arrival, the Army Chief was warmly received by Major General B.G.S. Fernando USP Hdmc psc and Senior Officers of the Regiment. He was accorded a Guard Turnout by the troops, followed by a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the parade square.
Afterward, the Army Chief inaugurated the newly constructed Charge Room Complex at the Regimental Centre and subsequently delivered a troop address. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks attended the event.
During the event, the Commander of the Army presented a cash incentive to Lance Corporal S.D. Manik Athula of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, who secured first place in the Physical Training Instructor Course (Women) and achieved 11th place in the overall order of merit of Physical Training Instructor Course No. 135 (Men/Women).
