Commander of the Army Visits Disabled War Heroes with New Year Greetings

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, visited the Ranaviru Sevana Army Rehabilitation Centre in Ragama on 01 April 2026, in line with the forthcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year, to extend his greetings.

Upon arrival, the Commander of the Army was accorded a drive pass and warmly received by Brigadier G.R.S. Dharmaratne USP, Commandant of the Ranaviru Sevana Army Rehabilitation Centre, Ragama.

During the visit, the Commander of the Army toured the facility and engaged in cordial interaction with the resident war heroes, inquiring their wellbeing. He also distributed gift parcels comprising essential items among the disabled veterans. Subsequently, he joined them for refreshments and posed for a group photograph.

Major General H.H.K.S.S. Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc, Adjutant General of the Army, Brigadier R.G.L.K. Weerakoon RWP RSP, Director of the Directorate of Veterans' Affairs and Rehabilitation, along with senior officers, officers, other ranks and inmates, participated in the event.
