Army Chief Inaugurates New House and Visits SLAOC Regimental Headquarters

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, inaugurated a newly constructed house for a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAOC) in Batagoda on 06 April 2026.

Upon arrival, the Commander of the Army, together with Mrs Swendrini Rodrigo, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, was warmly received by Major General W.M.S.N. Wijekoon ndc AATO, Colonel Commandant of SLAOC, along with Mrs Nirmalee Wijekoon, Chairperson of the SLAOC Seva Vanitha Branch.

At an auspicious time, the Commander of the Army ceremonially handed over the keys of the newly constructed house to Sergeant W.B. Dharmapriya of SLAOC.

Subsequently, the Commander of the Army visited the Regimental Headquarters of SLAOC. Upon arrival, he was accorded a drive pass. During the visit, he planted a sapling, posed for a group photograph and conducted a camp visit.

The visit culminated with a troop address delivered by the Commander of the Army at the School of Ordnance. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the day’s programme.
