Under the direction of Major General J.P.C. Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Commander, Security Force (Wanni), and the supervision of the General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division and the Commander of the 211 Infantry Brigade, troops of the 9 Gajaba Regiment (GR) and 5 (V) GR, together with villagers, worked to mitigate the crisis. They repaired the canal bund using sandbags, effectively preventing further water leakage and safeguarding the community.
