12 Infantry Division troops of the Security Force HQ - Central in response to a request made by the Basnayaka Nilame at Kataragama Devalaya assisted the conduct of the annual ('Kathi Mangallaya') on Sunday (26 Nov).

Troops prepared meals served to about 2000 devotees and provided necessary security to the visitors in the sacred premises during the full day.

The office of the Basnayaka Nilame supplied raw materials and resources for preparation of those meals and Major General C.S Munasinghe WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc IG, the General Officer Commanding, 12 Infantry Division provided the necessary guidance to the troops.
