Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B. Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna, paid initial homage to the sacred Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil in Jaffna on Tuesday (13 Feb).

A special ‘Aashirwada Pooja’ (blessing ceremony) of Hindu tradition added significance and dignity to the new Commander at the ancient temple.

The 'Uttarayana Pooja' of the Kovil at the dawn of the day was also held and the Commander participated in the ceremony with hundreds of Hindu devotees. At the end of the ceremony, the Commander presented a stock of cleaning items for the Kovil. Several Senior Officers also took part in the Pooja.
