Brigadier S.J Kariyakarawana RWP RSP USP, of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, assumed the duties officially as the new Director of the Directorate of Army Band & Performing Arts on 18 January 2024 during a brief ceremony held at his office in Ratmalana.

The new Director of Army Band & Performing Arts symbolically confirmed his duty assumption in the new position, signing an official document in the presence of several Officers of the Directorate.
