Troops of the 16 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment of the 561 Infantry Brigade of the 56 Infantry Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) together with villagers in Nedunkeni South Gramaseva Division conducted a cleaning programme inside the Nedunkeni Regional Hospital compound on 18 December.

Due to adverse weather conditions in the north Nedunkeni Regional Hospital drainage systems got blocked, posing a health threat. At the request of hospital authorities, troops of 16 Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry (16 SLLI) provided their manpower assistance to clear the blockage and cleaned the entire compound.
