The newly-appointed Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) of the Sri Lanka Army, Major General S.P.A.I.M.B Samarakoon Hdmc Lsc upon assumption of his new office at the Army Headquarters paid his first courtesy visit to his mother regiment, Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) Headquarters at Colombo 02 on Friday (15 December 2023).

The SLEME Centre Commandant, Brigadier C Kalutharaarachchi warmly welcomed Major General S.P.A.I.M.B Samarakoon Hdmc Lsc on arrival and invited him to review the Guard Turnout at the main entrance. Afterwards, a Guard of Honour salute in the parade ground honoured him in accordance with military traditions. A few minutes later, he addressed all officers and extended his sincere gratitude to all past and present senior officers, other officers and the soldiers of the SLEME for paving way him to reach the new office, being the 3rd important office in the organization.

The Deputy Chief of Staff was also invited for a group photograph at the officers’ mess where Officers interacted with the newly Deputy Chief of Staff and Colonel Commandant of Corps of SLEME, during an All Rank tea arrangement towards the end of the ceremony.

He is also the 4th Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army, produced by the SLEME. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the SLEME extended their best wishes to the new Deputy Chief of Staff before his exit from the location.
