    General Rajendra Chhetri, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) of the Nepali Army who just arrived in Sri Lanka accepting a friendly invitation of his Sri Lankan counterpart, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, called at the Army Headquarters this morning (18) to pay courtesies to his host, Commander of the Army as the first segment of his five-day long itinerary here.

  • Sri Lanka Army Completes Its Commitment to UN Assignments in Mali

    The final 32-strong batch of the Mali-bound Combat Convoy Company (CCC) of the Sri Lanka Army, making a new landmark record as a recognized Troop Contributing Country, now to the African continent, too left Sri Lanka for Mali Wednesday (10) evening, amidst greetings and best wishes. A few Senior Officers were at the airport to bid goodbye to those UN bound soldiers, together with several Senior Officers. A similar contingent left the island Tuesday (9) evening too after the first contingent of 150 Army personnel flew on the eve of Christmas 2017.

    Pakistan Army’s Commandant at Army School of Logistics, Brigadier Kashif Zafar, accompanied by a few Senior Officers at the invitation of the Sri Lanka Army arrived here this evening (6) on a six-day long goodwill tour. Representatives of the Sri Lanka Army, headed by Colonel Ranjan Jayasekara warmly welcomed the delegation on arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Colombo.
