    Army Promotes Spiritual Connectivity Erecting First - Ever Pandol in New Delhi

    Rejuvenating the legacy of spiritual connectivity and cultural ethos that has existed between Sri Lanka and India for generations, a brightly - lit up ‘Vesak’ Pandol erected by the Sri Lanka Army’s Corps of Engineer Services (CES), following an initiative of Ms Chitranganee Wagiswara, High Commissioner for Sri Lanka in India will be on display in New Delhi beginning Monday (15) to coincide with the ongoing commemoration of the Buddha’s Birth, Enlightenment and Parrinibbana (passing away).

    Reminiscent of age-old practices during the times of Sinhala and Tamil New Year, the tradition of ‘Negam Yama’ (visit to relatives), was revived Wednesday (26) morning by Lieutenant General Crisanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army by calling at the Ragama Ranaviru Sevana (disabled War Heroes’ wellness resort for recuperation and rehabilitation) where a total of 115 injured War Heroes are cared for recuperation and rehabilitation.
