Private Sector College Seeks Army Resource Personnel for MBA Studies


At the request of the private educational institute, Western College for Management & Technology (WMTC) of Mount Lavinia, the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) during a three-day (Nov 22 - 24) programme, offered professional expertise to 24 Masters of Business Administration (MBA) students of the College, in the field of leadership, team work, management, effective communication, confidence building, decision-making, courage, endurance, assertiveness, motivation, etc.

Major General U.A.B Medawela, Commander, SFHQ-C with the directions of the Commander of the Army, responded positively to the request of the private College and organized the entire training programme with facilities for board and lodging to all the attendees.

The project, launched as a novel approach, through which external aspirants too, provided access to the vast knowledge and resources of military professionals of the Army, proved highly successful and effective, judged by the positive feedback of the attendees.

More than ten Army instructors, including Major General U.A.B Medawela delivered lectures to the attendees, covering much of the practical aspects, related to their theoretical academia which in turn imparted knowledge on organizational skills, self-achievements, social etiquettes, distinction between military and civil values, perceptions on military and military personnel, etc.
