Newly-Constructed ICU & ETU Units at Palaly Army Base Hospital Opened

The newly-constructed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the Emergency Treatment Unit (ETU) at the Palaly Army Base Hospital in Jaffna were vested in the troops serving the peninsula during a brief ceremony on Sunday (20), headed by Major General Chandana Wijayasundara, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna at the invitation of hospital authorities.

Major L.D Rathnaweera, Commanding Officer at the Army Base Hospital welcomed the day's Chief Guest and ushered him to the locations after a warm welcome. After cutting a symbolic ribbon, both units were declared open to the patients.

5 Corps of Engineer Services (CES) Regiment troops under the guidance of Brigadier Clifford Zoysa, Commander, Forward Maintenance Area - North were instrumental in erecting those two sections, a long-felt need of the hospital.

The day's Chief Guest had a close look at both units and thanked the authorities and the troops for their contribution to the completion of the project.
