542 Brigade Supplies 120 Dry Ration Packs to Needy Families

Troops of the 542 Brigade of the 54 Division offered dry ration packets among 120 needy families living in Iluppaikulam, Kondachchi, Vikumpura and Pumalantham villages on Friday (4) after inviting them to the Madu Sri Bodhirajarama Viharaya.

On the instructions of Major General Darshana Wijesekara, General Officer Commanding, 54 Division, Brigadier Shihan Fernando, Commander 542 Brigade coordinated the event with the support of 8 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) and 15 (v) Gemunu Watch (GW) troops.

During the programme, each beneficiary got a dry ration pack, worth Rs 10,000/= . The ‘MSC Lanka Private Company - Colombo provided the financial contribution for the purchase of those dry rations.

542 Brigade Commander, Commanding Officer of 8 VIR, Officers, Mr. Primal Peris, General Manager, Mr. Kelum Warnakulasooriya, Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Dinish Wickramasinghe, HR manager of MSC Lanka Private Company- Colombo participated in the event.
