On information received by troops of the 3 (Volunteer) Military Intelligence Corps of the 233 Brigade of the 23 Division under the Security Force HQ -East, those troops, together with Kadiraveli Special Task Force officers arrested a person with 15.6g of “Methamphetamine” Drugs (Ice) (worth of Rs 270,000/=), a sum of Rs 34,500/= in cash, two mobile phones and a motorbike while the suspect was in Navalady area on Thursday (03).
The suspect with drugs, cash and his accessories was handed over to the Valachchenai Police station for further investigations.
Commander, Security Forces -East, together with the General Officer Commanding, 23 Division and the Brigade Commander, 233 Brigade closely monitored the above raid which would help eradicate the drug menace from the East.
