The Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) giving pride of place to religious ceremonies commemorated its 19th anniversary during 27-30 October 2022 as per directions of Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters-East.
A special Bodhi Pooja 'Pinkama' and offer of milk food (Kiri Aahara) at Somawathiya Raja Maha Viharaya on 27 October followed invocation of blessings on the SFHQ-E, its troops and civil staffers, the following morning with offer of alms to the monks.
On the anniversary day (30), All Ranks at the Security Forces Headquarters-East sat together for a fellow-lunch treat.
Afterwards, 50 packs of dry rations were distributed among civil staffers serving the SFHQ-East with the participation of Brigadier Sujeewa Jayasinghe, Brigadier General Staff at SFHQ-East.
The anniversary ceremonies culminated in the same evening with a musical entertainment, dedicated to All Ranks and civil staffers working at the SFHQ-East.
