Mannar Troops Do Lagoon Belt Cleaning

On the guidelines given by Major General Dharshana Wijesekera, General Officer Commanding, 54 Division, 543 Brigade troops under command to the 54 Division, organized a special Shramadana campaign as a community project along the lagoon belt from Thallady to Mannar Bridge on 04 September 2022 on account of the 12th anniversary of the 54 Division.

The aforesaid community project also aimed at the prevention of the Dengue epidemic in the area with the onset of torrential rains.

Colonel Sudath Adikari, Colonel General Staff of the 54 Division and Lieutenant Colonel Amitha Mangala, the Civil Affairs Coordination Officer of the 54 Division with about 150 Army personnel and the staff in the Mannar Municipal Council joined the day's drive.
